titleOfInvention A method for dividing optical isomers of racemic S-benzylpenicilamin
abstract The subject of the invention is a separation methodnoptical isomers of DL-S-benzylpecnicilamin,nused in medicine.nIt is an enzymatic division thatnthe fact that DL-N-phenylacetyl-S-nbenzylpenicilamin is inhibited with penicillinamidohydrolasen(E.C. 3.5.1.11)na mixture of L-S-benzylpenicilamin and D-N-phenylacetyl-S-benzylpenicilaminnis separatednpreferably by ion exchangers.nThe novelty of the invention liesnin finding that penicillinamidohydrolasen(E.C. 3.5.1.11) specifically cleaves phenylacetic acidnacid only from the L-formnracemic N-phenylacetyl-S-benzylpenicilamin,nwith a mixture of L-S-benzylpenicilaminnand D-N-phenylacetyl-S-benzylpenicilaminncan be easily split.
