titleOfInvention | An immune response against HPV antigens induced by compositions comprising HPV antigen and a stress protein or expression vector capable of expressing these proteins |
abstract | The present invention relates to compositions for inducing an immune response, npreferably, cellular, more specifically, cellular cytolytic immunenresponses against human protein antigensnpapillomavirus (HPV) present on HPV or onninfected cells, including suppository cancer cellsnuterine and other tumors. In one embodiment, the compositionncontains HPV protein antigen bound to stressnprotein (or heat shock protein (Hsp)). Proteinnthe HPV antigen may be bound to a stress proteinnby chemical conjugation or non-covalent bondingnthrough connecting groups or may benHPV protein antigen and stress protein bound in fusionna protein comprising both the HPV protein antigen and the proteinnstress protein. In another embodiment, the composition comprisesnan expression vector comprising, in an expressible form, a sequencenencoding HPV protein antigen and stress coding sequencesnprotein. The expression vector may be inserted into the cells of an individual, nor can be used to transform an individual's cells in vivo, nwherein the process results in expression of the fusion protein composed ofnHPV protein antigen and stress protein whichnit stimulates an immune response against a proteinnHPV antigen. The invention also relates to compositions comprising a stress protein bound to HPV antigen and anotherna pharmacologically acceptable component, fusion proteins foldednfrom HPV protein antigen and stress protein anconjugates and expression vectors encoding and directing expressionnfusion proteins composed of HPV protein antigen anstress protein in individual cells. |
