The invention relates to a carboxylic acid derivative such as (3S) -3 - {[({1 - [(2-chlorophenyl) methyl] -2-oxo-4-propyl-1,2-dihydro-3-pyridyl} amino) carbonyl] amino} -3- (4-methylphenyl) propanoic acid, their use for selectively inhibiting integrin binding .alpha. to its receptors (e.g., VCAM-1 and fibronectin), for the treatment of asthma, atherosclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, allergies, multiple sclerosis, leukemia, brain cancer, etc. |
