abstract |
The invention relates to a process for the preparation of benzoic acid derivatives which are valuable intermediates for the synthesis of antibacterially highly effective quinolonecarboxylic acid. The object of the invention is to provide a process for the preparation of the desired intermediates, which proceeds from easily accessible precursors in a few reaction steps. According to the invention, the compounds of the formula I in which the substituents have the meaning in the description are prepared by reacting a compound of the formula II in which the substituents have the meaning in the description, for example via a Sandmeyer or Balz Schiemann reaction in compounds of the formula (Ia) in which the substituents which have the meaning given in the description are reacted.
