The invention relates to a process for the preparation of novel basic substituted 5-halothienoisothiazol-3 (2H) -one-1,1-dioxides of the formula I in which R 1 is hydrogen, (C 1 -C 4) -alkyl or halogen, R 2 is halogen and n represents an integer 2 to 6 and their pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts by reacting a compound of formula II in which R2 and n are as defined above and X is halogen, with a compound of formula III in which R1 is hydrogen, (C1 C4) alkyl or halogen, and, if desired, conversion into a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt. The compounds of formula I can be used in medicaments for the treatment of anxiety. Formulas I to III |
