abstract A transmitting antenna for magnetic resonance applications has a plurality of antenna rods (1) extending from a first end to a second end (1 ', 1' '). The antenna rods (1) are arranged distributed around a central axis. they are closed off at their first ends (1 ') by means of a first and at their second ends (1' ') by means of a second end element (3, 6). The first end element (3) is designed as an end ring which has a number of end ring sections (4) which are coupled to one another via end ring capacitors (5). The second end element (6) is designed differently than the first end element (3). The transmitting antenna has a detuning circuit (7) by means of which the transmitting antenna can be detuned. The detuning circuit (7) is arranged on the side of the second terminating element (6).
