abstract A heat pump device includes an outdoor unit (6) having a heat exchanger (14) in which a refrigerant absorbs heat from outside air by performing heat exchange with outside air. A drainage pan (61) is arranged to receive condensed water forming on the second heat exchanger (14). In the heat pump device, a drainage pipe (63) is connected to a drainage opening (62) of the drainage sump (61) and extends in the underground (72) so that a front end of the drainage pipe (63) is embedded in the underground (72). Alternatively, a heater (5) for heating the condensed water is arranged in the drainage pipe (63). Accordingly, freezing of the condensed water on the surface of the subsurface (72) under the outdoor unit (6) can be avoided.
