Finely divided copolymer waxes, which are particularly suitable as additives for paints, produced by a) conversion of long-chain olefin hydrocarbons in the chain length range greater than or equal to 28 carbon atoms with unsaturated polycarboxylic acids or their anhydrides in the presence of at least one radical initiator and b) subsequent micronization by grinding or spraying, characterized in that the particles of the ground or sprayed copolymer waxes are less than 50 microns, preferably less than 40 microns, more preferably less than 30 microns. Preferably 98 to 99.5% of the particles, in particular 99.5 to 100% of the particles are smaller than 50 μm, preferably smaller than 40 μm, particularly preferably smaller than 30 μm. |
