titleOfInvention Process for producing a solar cell with a textured front side and corresponding solar cell
abstract A method for producing a solar cell (100) and a correspondingly producible solar cell are described. On a solar cell substrate (1), first an edged texture (7), which may have pyramids (7) produced by alkaline etching, for example, is formed both on a front side (3) and on a back side (5) of the solar cell substrate (1). Subsequently, an etching barrier layer is applied to the front side of the solar cell substrate (1). Subsequently, the texture (7) on the back side (5) of the solar cell substrate (1) is smoothed by etching in an isotropically acting, for example, acidic etching solution, wherein the front side (3) is protected by the Ätzbarrierenschicht. As a result, edged structures on the backside (5) can be avoided and in this way a reflection can be increased and a surface passivation can be improved, which can lead both to an increased efficiency potential. At the same time, an emitter layer (13) formed on the entire surface of the solar cell substrate (1) on the rear side (5) can be removed during the etching, whereby electrical insulation of the front-side contacts (23) and the rear-side contacts (25) can be superfluous.
