| abstract |
A method of identifying telematics calls includes the steps of receiving at a vehicle telematics unit a paging message used to connect a call via a wireless carrier system; that the vehicle telematics unit determines whether the paging message used to connect the call has a Mobile Identification Number (MIN) or a Mobile Equipment Identifier (MEID); and that the call is set up and that when the vehicle telematics unit determines that the paging message has the MEID, it enters a mode in which the vehicle telematics unit uses a modem for receiving and transmitting data. |
