The present invention relates to a method for operating a motor vehicle having a first operating mode in which electrical energy is generated from exhaust gases of an internal combustion engine by means of an electrically assisted turbocharger and the motor vehicle is driven by an electric machine by means of the generated electrical energy and a second operating mode the electrically assisted turbocharger is driven by means of electric energy from a battery, with the steps of detecting (S101) operating parameters of the internal combustion engine; and switching (S102) between the first operation mode and the second operation mode based on the determined operation parameters. |
