abstract The invention relates to a rubber mixture for encasing one or more reinforcements. Furthermore, the invention relates to a reinforcement, in particular for vehicle tires, belts, belts and hoses, which is coated with at least one rubber mixture. Furthermore, the invention relates to a vehicle tire which has at least one reinforcement. The rubber compound shows improved adhesive properties on steel after aging the steel in air containing NO 2 and contains at least the following components: - at least one diene rubber, - 0.05 to 6 phr magnesium oxide (MgO) and/or calcium oxide (CaO), and - wherein the rubber composition is free of butyl rubber and free of halobutyl rubber.
