abstract A delay locked loop circuit (50) receiving a reference clock signal (72), the delay locked loop (DLL) circuit timing the reference clock signal (72) and an internal feedback clock signal, the DLL circuit (50) comprising: a forward delay circuit (52) receiving the reference clock signal (72), the forward delay circuit (52) outputting a delayed clock signal, the forward delay circuit (52) adjustably timing-shifting the delayed clock signal relative to the reference clock signal (72); an inverter (62) receiving the delayed clock signal, the inverter outputting an inverted delayed clock signal that is the inverse of the delayed clock signal; and a feedback delay circuit (54) receiving either the delayed or inverted delayed clock signal and outputting the feedback clock signal, the feedback clock signal being shifted in time with respect to the selected delayed or inverted delayed clock signal.
