abstract An electric machine has a stator having a plurality of fins having an outer periphery, and each of the fins has teeth around a center opening so that when the fins are stacked side by side to form the stator core, the plurality of teeth of the adjacent fins cooperate Form slits disposed circumferentially about the center opening configured to receive a plurality of stator windings. Each of the fins has a plurality of cooling apertures angularly spaced about the central opening. The cooling holes of the adjacent fins cooperate to form cooling manifolds that extend along a length of the stator core. A portion of the fins has their cooling holes offset from other fins in the package in a manner to create a plurality of flow paths across the headers and at an angle between the fins and adjacent headers.
