The buffer store is passed by the engine exhaust gas and is fluently regenerated. The buffer store is predominantly closed to the exhaust gas during running operation of the diesel engine. The blocking is targetted at a mean low nitrogen dioxide content in the exhaust gas flow per time unit and/or in thrust phases and/or idling phases of the engine. Pref. the blocking duration takes place at min. 50 %, pref. 75 %, when an average nitrogen dioxide content per time unit etc. is present in the exhaust gas flow. For the regeneration of the nitrogen dioxide buffer store a fuel may be supplied to it by suitable nozzles. |
