Cycloalkyl substituted cyclobutanone derivatives (I) are new. 3-Cycloalkyl-cyclobutanone derivatives (I) are new: Q = C(O); CH(CHO); CH-(Z-A)n-R; or a group of formula (i): R = H; Br; Cl; F; OH; CN; NCS; or alkyl, alkoxy, alkenyl or alkenyloxy with up to 15C optionally monosubstituted with CN or CF3 or mono- or polysubstituted with halo and optionally having 1 or more CH2 groups replaced with O, S, C(O), C(O)O, OC(O), OC(O)O or 1,3-cyclobutanediyl (provided that O atoms are not linked together); A = trans-1,4-cyclohexylene optionally with 1 or more non-adjacent CH2 groups replaced by O and/or S, 1,4-phenylene optionally with 1 or 2 CH groups replaced by N, or 1,4-cyclohexenylene (all optionally substituted with CN, Cl or F); 1,4-bicyclo(2,2,2)-octylene; piperidine-1,4-diyl; naphthalene-2,6-diyl; decahydronaphthalene-2,6-diyl; 1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalene-2,6-diyl; Z = C(O)O; OC(O); CH2O; OCH2; CH2CH2; CH=CH; C equivalent to C; O; or a single bond; n = 0-2; r = 1-3. Independent claims are also included for: (A) the preparation of compounds (I); and (B) the use of compounds (I) for the production of compounds (III). L<1>, L<2> and L<3> = H or F; R<1> = H; Br; F; CN; CF3; OCF3; OCHF2; OCHFCF3; OCF2CF3; or linear 1-7C alkyl or alkoxy. |
