titleOfInvention Process for the preparation of hydroxylammonium sulfate
abstract The invention relates to an improved process for the preparation of hydroxylammonium sulfate. DOLLAR A The process initially involves catalytic ammonia oxidation in a mixture with water vapor and oxygen. The nitro gas produced is then mixed with hydrogen, its composition stabilized, concentrated by two-stage water vapor condensation, purified from nitrogen dioxide, mixed with hydrogen, a mixture of sulfuric acid, water and the condensate from the first concentration stage and used for the synthesis of hydroxylammonium sulfate. DOLLAR A According to the invention, the condensate of the second concentration stage, whose nitric acid content is more than 2% by mass, is subjected to the liquid phase hydrogenation with hydrogen on a platinum catalyst and the gas mixture of nitrogen monoxide and hydrogen is passed into the main stream of the concentrated nitrogen monoxide. The hydrogenation product, the nitric acid content of which is up to 0.45% by mass, is advantageously used when mixing the sulfuric acid with water and the condensate of the first concentration stage. DOLLAR A With this technology a waste-free production of hydroxylammonium sulfate and a higher operational safety is achieved.
