The invention relates to a method for influencing the structure of charge carrier gratings (photorefraction) in optically nonlinear materials, such as optically nonlinear crystals, within frequency doubling or frequency multiplication techniques of laser radiation or the targeted influencing of the process responsible for the construction of charge carrier gratings. The aim is to optimize the efficiency of the conversion process and avoid intensity fluctuations within frequency conversion techniques for coherent laser radiation. For this purpose, the invention uses thermal, thermo-optical, micromechanical and electrical influences on the formation of the charge carrier lattice within the relevant crystal structures. |
