titleOfInvention Twist beam axle for motor vehicles
abstract The twist beam axle (2) has a U-shaped cross member (1) formed over the majority of its length by non-cutting shaping of a tube with a round cross section. The ends (3) of which the ends (3) are welded to the trailing arms (4) and are shaped without a box. The central longitudinal plane (MLE) extending through the apex (6) and centrally between the legs (8) of the cross member (1) is at an angle with respect to the plane of symmetry (SE) extending through the longitudinal axes (9) of the trailing arms (4) (=) arranged. The cross member (1) and the trailing arm (4) can consist of a high-strength light metal, a light metal alloy or also of steel.
