Pref. hydrophilic colloid of (A) is gelatine, a gelatine deriv. or a mixt. of gelatine with =40 wt.% hydrophilic vinyl pyrrolidone homo-or copolymer. Gelatine deriv. may be a reaction prod. with benzene-sulphonyl chloride, phthalic anhydride, benzoyl chloride etc. or grafted gelatine, e.g. contg. a grafted-on polymer of acrylic acid. Pref. (I) has formula Y1COCXHCONHY2 (where Y1 is aliphatic, aromatic or heterocyclic; Y2 is aromatic or heterocyclic and X can be split off on coupling). |
