| abstract | The coffee machine is designed with a hot plate which is heated by the heating element and resistor which is mounted beneath the plate in an insulated casing in the inner zone of a groove. The water pipe along which runs the electrical heating element is mounted in the outer zone of the groove and acts as a cover for the said heating element so that a cost saving is achieved by using a heating resistor which is only enclosed by one insulation means, the sensitive electrical insulation of the heating element being protected against damage by the water pipe. The width of the heating element is thus less than that of the water pipe and the inner groove zone (containing the heating element) is narrower than the outer zone (containing the water pipe), heat being transferred to the walls of the groove since the heating element is closed to hand. |
