PRINT HEAD FOR A THERMAL PRINTER AND PROCESS FOR ITS MANUFACTURING |
abstract |
The end face is provided with slots and forms the printing surface. It is divided in a number of longitudinal projections. Several resistive strips are applied on these projections, which form heating elements. The free ends of the strips run over both surfaces of the support and a number of electrodes are provided on the strips free ends. The dimensions of a picture element to be printed are determined by the width of projections and by the shape of the end face. The support is made of a ceramic material, and the resistive strips consists of chemically deposited nickel. For printing on paper the latter is pressed against the printing face and transported along the same in synchronism with incoming signals. |
