titleOfInvention | CONTACT ARRANGEMENT FOR ROAD-GUIDED ELECTRIC VEHICLES |
abstract | A contact device for electric vehicles running on lines, with a carbon brush surface, has a conductor based on hard Al, e.g. AlZnMgCu 1.5. The brush surface is produced by brushing trolley brushes with carbon sliding contacts on the conductor and is regenerated automatically on each run. A high quality live rail surface is obtd. after a relatively small number of runs. The wear of the carbon brush reduces as a function of the number of runs and is stabilised when much carbon has been transferred, giving contacts with a quality as good as, or better than, usual. |
