abstract The equaliser compensates the attenuation variations in a cable to temperature fluctuations, owing to its termination by a temperature controlled resistor. The equaliser is a Bode equaliser whose temperature controlled resistor consists of PIN diodes which are connected in parallel in opposite senses. Their resistance depends on the output current of a differential amplifier which has a temperature sensitive resistor connected to one of inputs. This system is placed at a point which is at the same temperature as the cable. At a median temperature (To) the effect of the system is zero. At higher temperatures (To + AT) the higher frequencies of the signal are attenuated the higher frequencies are amplified.
