COLLECTOR FOR THE USE OF SOLAR ENERGY TO GENERATE HEAT, CONNECTED TO ELEMENTS THAT COLLECT HEAT, HEAT AND INSULATE |
abstract |
A series of tubular plastic transparent elements form lenses for the concentration of the incident radiation, and are liquid-filled. Hollow transparent collector elements, containing the heat transfer liquid, lie parallel to the lenses so that the focal points of the latter lie within the absorber tubes as the incident radiation angle changes. The absorbers are covered on the rear side with an opaque layer and with thermal insulation. The liq filling may be water or glycerine, etc. Compact and cheap construction giving correction for the relative movement of the sun and the earth and maintaining high thermal efficiency. |
