abstract | Benzene and pyridine derivs. of formulae (I) and (Ia) and their salts with acids and bases are new: (R is H, Cl, Br or 4-7C acyclic alkyleneimino; R1 is H, F, Cl, Br, 1-6C alkyl, 1-6C alkoxy, Ph-substd. A, OH, NO2, CN, COOA', alkanoylamino or A2N-SO2; R2 and R3 are each 1-7C alkyl, 3-7C alkenyl, 3-7C cycloalkyl, Ph-substd. A, Ph or adamantyl; or NR2R3 is 4-6C unbranched alkyleneimino (opt.substd. by 1-2 1-4C alkyl or by 1 OA', Ph or COOA'; and opt. with a CH2 replaced by NQ, O, S, CO, SO or SO2), satd. or partly unsatd. 7-10C aza-bicycloalkyl, 3,5-(A)2-piperidino (3-5C total in the 2 A), pyrrolyl, tetrahydropyridino or (CH2)n=N- (n is 3 or 7-12); A is 1-3 alkyl; A' is H or A; Q is A', COOA, Ph, halo-Ph, PhCH2, pyridyl or furoyl; R4 is as A'; X is N or CH; Y is O, NH or C(A')2; Z is H, halogen, CH2CH2Q' (Q' is NO2, NH2, CN, CHO, CH2OH or COOH), opt. esterified COOH, Me (opt. substd. by 2 or 3 A or 1 COOA' or OCH2CH2O), MeCO (opt. substd. by COOA'), Et or ethylene (both opt. substd. by 1-2 COOA or 2 COOH) or (A1)2N-CO-; when NR2R3 is cyclic imino, Z can also be carboxyethyl; each A1 is H, 1-7C alkyl, 3-7C cycloalkyl or 3-7C alkenyl; or -N(A1)2 is piperidino, (thio)morpholino or N-(A)-piperazino; R5 is F, Cl, Br, NH2, CN, OH, opt.
