titleOfInvention METHOD FOR PRODUCING AN ULTRASONIC TRANSDUCER ARRANGEMENT
abstract The transducer has groups of transducing elements controlled together. A metal coating (18) is provided for the opposing narrow sides of the elements (2) in each group (6-10). The metal coating is connected to the metal coating (21,23) of a plastics foil acting as contact foil (21,22). The contact foil has slits between the transducing elements and forms a contact tag (24-28) for the elements of the groups. An array having a large number of closely-spaced transducing elements can be contacted simply in this manner. The parts projecting at both ends of the elements are separated into contact tags. One tag (24) is connected to a control line and the other (25) forms electrically-conducting bridges for the elements. At least one flat surface of a piezoelectric body (10) is connected to a part of the surface of the metal coating of the contact foil. The other flat surface is fixed to a damping body (4). The piezoelectric body is divided up. The metal coating of the contact foil has a specified thickness and the contact foil is made of specified plastics.
