| abstract | To increase the roller and cylinder surfaces required for distributing and evening-out the ink, the supply of damping medium is interrupted. This takes place by raising the damping medium transfer roller (10) from the applicator roller (4) after the end of the printing image (motif end) passing by below the roller (4) applying the damping medium is indicated by a control cam of a control device. In the region of the print-free cylinder surface (B-C) inking takes place only by at least one of the applicator rollers (2, 3, 4).
