A process for desalting solutions with use of an electrodialysis cell (25) is described. The solutions are first introduced into a chamber (28) of the cell (25), said chamber being delimited by two cation exchanger membranes (5, 6) and filled with ion exchanger material, and the solutions are then passed to another chamber (31) likewise filled with ion exchanger material, which is delimited by two anion exchanger membranes (14, 15). Next to each of the first two chambers (28, 31), other chambers (29, 33) are provided, which are delimited on the sides away from the first chambers (28, 31) by membranes (9, 16) differing with respect to selective permeability from the membranes of the first chambers (28, 31) and which are filled with liquids, which prevent the formation of sparingly soluble products. <IMAGE> |
