Preparation of quinoxalines of the formula <IMAGE> in which X and Y independently of one another denote chlorine or bromine, by halogenation of quinoxaline, 2,3-dichloroquinoxaline and/or 2,3-dibromoquinoxaline in a solid bed or in a fluidised bed in the presence of halogenation catalysts at 350 to 800 DEG C using chlorine or bromine. (I) is obtained in high yield and very good purity. |
