abstract The turbine meter interacts with a flow straightener which is connected upstream and consists of a nest of pipes formed from straight pipes parallel to the axis. The central cylinder space of the flow straightener is constructed as an enclosed displacement body which covers the hub of the turbine wheel and around which the straightener pipes are arranged. The diameter of the straightener pipes is matched to the height of the blades of the turbine wheel. In order to achieve a measurement result which is as independent as possible of viscosity, a longitudinal dividing wall which is twisted by 70 to 90 DEG is installed in each straightener tube, by means of which longitudinal dividing wall the partial currents which flow through the straightener tubes are turned in their flow profile by 90 DEG . As a result, the speed peaks of the flow profile now no longer act on the turbine blades over a circular arc but rather approximately in the radial direction so that even in the case of different viscosities of the medium to be measured there is constant admission to the turbine blades.
