titleOfInvention METHOD FOR CONTINUOUSLY DRYING AND PREHEATING A CHARGE OF GOODS FROM A GLASS MELTING STOVE THROUGH IT'S EXHAUST GAS, AND APPARATUS FOR CARRYING OUT THE METHOD
abstract The batch for a glass melting furnace is dried and preheated in a continuous flow as a descending column. Any water vapour prod-uced by the process is immediately evacuated together with the fur-nace flue gases which hasve been used for the drying, leaving no condensation. ADVANTAGE - This is a functionally reliable process which has a high thermal efficiency and which can be introduced without diffuclty in the operation of existing furnaces.
