| abstract | A water basin at the base of a paint spray booth or cabin incorporates a filter. The filter is located within a sequence of horizontally-arranged unsupported hoses floating in water. The water from which paint residues are to be removed is drawn into the hose filter by a pump with one inlet for paint-laden water and a second inlet for an emulsifier. The filter hose is pref. made of an external bag with shape-maintaining strength and an inner filter gauze whose unfolded dia. is greater than that of the outer sheath. The inner filter bag is joined with the outer hose only at the inlet and end. The filter hose rests horizontally in the water basin. USE/ADVANTAGE - The arrangement facilitates the construction of a paint spray booth incorporating a filter which removes paint residues from water. The filtration process is simple and reliable to operate. |
