A stopper for insertion in a bone cavitiy, esp. in the marrow cavity of a hollow bone, comprising a substance compatible with the body, is formed of tri-Ca phosphate, a binder, and water. Pref. binder is gelatin, polyvinylpyrrolidone or a polylactide. The stopper may contain an antibiotic, esp. an aminoglycoside, partic. gentamycin sulphate, in amt. of 50-500 mg (100-300 mg). The compsn. contains 80-99 % of tri-Ca phosphate, 18-0.5% of binder and 2-0.5% of water. ADVANTAGE - The bone cavity can be completely filled with cement, without preventing the sec. fixing. In time, the stopper is resorbed. |
