titleOfInvention | Process for the optical isolation of a laser beam source and optical isolator, in particular for carrying out the process |
abstract | The invention relates to a method for the optical isolation of a laser-beam source and an optical isolator, in particular for carrying out this method. The inventive method is distinguished by the fact that, as a result of diffraction, the laser beam is subjected to a beam division and energy division and that, after the diffraction, the energy level of an interference beam retroreflected in the direction of the laser-beam source is lower than the energy level of the laser beam. For the incident laser beam, the diffractive optical element(s) exhibit(s) in the direction of the useful beam a higher diffraction effectiveness (efficiency) than for the beam which returns in the direction of the diffractive optical element after a reflection. Optical isolators preferably have a plurality of diffraction gratings in transmission or reflection. |
