| abstract | The transformable trailer system contains a transformable trailer having a segmented lower deck and a segmented upper deck mounted above the lower deck. The segmented lower deck contains retractable front and rear ramps with bottoms, which operate independently relative to each other so as to ensure their selective raising and lowering relative to the pair of side rails that define the bottom in front of the trailer wheels. When the ramps are in the fully lowered position, they are lowered to the lower end between a pair of side rails in order to be substantially completely below the upper edges of the pair of side rails. When the ramps are in a raised position, they are raised so that they are flush with the upper edges of the side rails or above these edges, and the load can be loaded on the side of the ramps with the bottoms over the pair of side rails. |
