abstract |
The invention relates to a method for the oxidation of SO to SO, comprising the following steps: (a) the direction of flow of the source gas containing SO and O into a catalytically active material; (b) oxidizing a certain amount of SO in said process gas to SO in the presence of a catalytically active material, resulting in a first oxidized process gas; (c) carrying out the reaction of SOС with water, (d) condensing HSO; (e) recovering the first desulfurized process gas and the first sulfuric acid stream; (f) recovering the desulfurized recycle stream from the desulfurized process gas, the recycle stream being added to said source gas stream or to said first oxidized process gas stream, and this has the advantage of reducing the molar flow rate of the process gas after the recycle stream is extracted and to the mixing point. |
