titleOfInvention ANTIPATOGENIC SYNTHETIC PEPTIDES AND COMPOSITIONS INCLUDING THEM
abstract Non-hemolytic cytolytic agents selected from peptides, bundled peptide complexes, mixtures of peptides or randomized peptide copolymers have selective cytolytic activity, manifested in the fact that they have a cytolytic effect on pathogenic cells that are not found in nature in the organism, including microbial pathogens microorganisms and malignant cells; and are non-hemolytic, that is, do not have a cytolytic effect on the red blood cells. These peptides can be cyclic derivatives of natural peptides, such as pardaxin and melittin, and their fragments, in which L-amino acid residues are replaced by corresponding D-amino acid residues, or they are diastereomers of linear peptides consisting of different ratios of at least one positive charged amino acid, or at least one hydrophobic amino acid, and in which at least one amino acid residue is a D-amino acid. Pharmaceutical compositions containing non-hemolytic cytolytic agents can be used to treat certain diseases caused by pathogens, including bacterial, fungal, viral, mycoplasma, and protozoal infections, and to treat cancer. The international application was published along with an international search report.
