titleOfInvention | METHOD OF ALKYLATION WITH REACTION DISTILLATION, INCLUDING THE REGENERATION OF THE CATALYST IN SITU |
abstract | Combined process that combines a unique in situ catalyst regeneration method with continuous reactive distillation under pressure to alkylate light aromatic hydrocarbons such as benzene with CC olefins using solid acid alkylation catalyst on a carrier in reflux distillation column (21) (section A) . Periodic regeneration of the catalytic sections E, F and G is carried out using countercurrent injection of CC-paraffin (35) below the benzene rectification zone in the upper part of the column, but above the catalyst zone, while the feedstock (17) of aromatic hydrocarbons for the reaction is introduced continuously into a point above the rectification zone in the lower part of the column, where aromatic compounds are separated from paraffins and by-products washed from catalysts. The use of C-C-paraffins together with aromatic compounds with a mole fraction ranging from 10 to 90% makes it possible to achieve and maintain a regeneration temperature of about 175-250 ° C by adjusting the pressure in the column and the reflux rate of aromatic compounds. To achieve the regeneration temperature, significantly lower pressures are required, on the order of 125 to 370 psi than would otherwise be required when using only aromatic hydrocarbons for diluting and washing the by-products from catalyst surfaces. The international application was published together with the report about international search. |
