Compounds of the formulan and their agriculturally suitable salts, wherein:n R, is thienyl or optionally substituted phenyl, R 2 is selected from various organic groups, X is CH 3 . CH 3 O. CH 3 CH 2 O or CH 3 OCH 2 . Y is CH 3 or CH 3 O, and Z is CH or N, can be employed as general or selective herbicides and as plant growth modifiers. The compounds can be formulated for use in conventional manner. They can be prepared by alkylation of an appropriately substituted carbamimidothioic acid salt. |
