Laminated safety glass comprises at least two glass sheets bonded together by an interlayer film of a plasticized thermoplastic resin. It is known to use plasticized polyvinyl butyral films as interlayers but such films are tacky and tend to block upon being wound up. If antiblocking agents are used they have to be removed before the films are used. If plasticized vinyl chloride/glycidyl methacrylate copolymer films are used, they tend to lack penetration resistance. …<??>According to the invention interlayer compositions are provided in which the thermoplastic resin is a copolymer of vinyl chloride, glycidyl methacrylate and at least one ethylenic hydrocarbon, vinyl ester of a fatty acid, acrylic ester or vinyl ether. …<??>Films of such compositions do not block, and when used as interlayers provide good penetration resistance and bond strength. |
