abstract |
The present invention deals with the simultaneous production of halosilanes and aromatic compounds from the group of carboxylic acid chlorides, aldehydes and ethers. These compounds are prepared according to the invention by reacting siloxanes with halomethylbenzenes at elevated temperature in the presence of a catalyst. Either metals or metal compounds of the subgroup elements or the 5th main group of the periodic table of the elements together with a proton donor as cocatalyst or sulfuric oxygen acids serve as the catalyst. All substances from which a hydrogen cation can be split off can be used as proton donors. The siloxanes are said to be liquid and can be ring-shaped or chain-shaped. The halomethylbenzenes can be substituted by any radical in the nucleus. |
