titleOfInvention | Process for the preparation of partial esters with emulsifying effect |
abstract | Partial esters of glycerine condensates with carboxylic acids of the type present in natural triglycerides are conventionally prepared by heating a mixture of a glycerine condensate or glycerine condensates and one or more fatty acids or a natural fat to a high temperature in the presence of a basic catalyst, and this reacton proceeds without formation of undesired by-products when the reaction is performed in tertiary butyl alcohol as solvent. The partial esters are used as emulsifiers within the food and stimulant industry. Particularly a glycerine condensate and triglyceride are used as starting materials in a weight ratio of about 20 - 70:80 - 30, using preferably 0.1 -0.5 liters of tertiary butyl alcohol per 450 g of combined starting materials. |
