titleOfInvention Process for the preparation of partial esters with emulsifying effect
abstract Partial esters of glycerine condensates with carboxylic acids of the type present in natural triglycerides are conventionally prepared by heating a mixture of a glycerine condensate or glycerine condensates and one or more fatty acids or a natural fat to a high temperature in the presence of a basic catalyst, and this reacton proceeds without formation of undesired by-products when the reaction is performed in tertiary butyl alcohol as solvent. The partial esters are used as emulsifiers within the food and stimulant industry. Particularly a glycerine condensate and triglyceride are used as starting materials in a weight ratio of about 20 - 70:80 - 30, using preferably 0.1 -0.5 liters of tertiary butyl alcohol per 450 g of combined starting materials.
