There are described compounds of formula I n nin which one of A, B and D represents hydrogen and the nother two independently represent -CH₂OR or -OR, nR represents hydrogen or phenylalkyl, and nR² and R³, which may be the same or different, each nrepresent hydrogen, alkyl or unsubstituted or substituted nphenylalkyl, nand the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. n There are also described processes for producing the ncompounds by reduction or hydrolysis and pharmaceutical, ne.g. cardiac, compositions containing them. n compound of formula II, n nin which one of A¹, B¹ and D¹ represents hydrogen and nthe other two independently represent -CHO, -CH₂OR¹ or n-OR¹, nR¹ represents a blocking group or a group R as defined nabove, and nQ represents -CH₂NR²R³, -CN or -CONR²R³ where R² and nR³ are as defined above, provided that R¹ does not represent nhydrogen when Q represents -CH₂NR²R³, |
