abstract Reducible color releasers of the formula I (q = 0) are suitable for the production of blue-green image dyes by the color diffusion transfer process. The color releasers are used together with ED compounds in association with a silver halide emulsion layer and release light-fast, blue-green phthalocyanine dyes of the formula I (q = 1) which are imagewise diffusible during development <IMAGE> where MPc is a tetravalent phthalocyanine residue of the formula <IMAGE> M = 2H, Ni or Cu R¹, R², R³ is hydrogen, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, aryl or acylamino, or R² and R³ complete a fused ring, R <4> hydrogen or alkyl, R <5> hydrogen, halogen or alkyl, alkoxy or acylamino each with up to 4 carbon atoms, R 6, R 7 or hydrogen or alkyl, alkenyl, aryl or R 6 and R 7 together the residue required to complete a saturated 5- or 6-membered ring , where R <6> and R <7> together contain no more than 7 carbon atoms, Ka <⊕> is a cation, p = 0, 1 or 2, q = 0 (for color releasers); = 1 (for split-off dyes), at least one of the radicals R¹, R², R³ and R <4> containing a diffusion-resistant radical.
