| abstract |
Position indicator system which can be used in container terminals to indicate the correct positioning of container carriers during loading and unloading. The system includes a transmitter (7) which emits two differently modulated rays (C) (D) of electromagnetic radiation which have a modulation overlap region (E) at the correct location. Detection members (8) mounted on the conveyor (2) are sensitive to modulation overlap and send an output signal to the transport drive indicating the position of the conveyor (2). |
