abstract | In an AC plasma planar panel, display cells (DS) are formed by the intersection of conductors in rows (103) and columns (102) which are embedded at lower and upper levels respectively in a layer single dielectric (101) near an ionizable display gas. A luminescence suppressing pad (106), embedded in the upper level, is disposed near each display cell. The luminescence suppressor pad is capacitively biased by the row and column electrodes at a voltage that prevents unwanted ionization of the display gas between adjacent display cells. |
