Glycol concentrates containing alkali metal silicates are rendered gellation resistant by the addition of phosphonates having one of the formulas,n ( I ) (RO) 3-m (R') m Si-R 2 -O-P(O) (OR 3 ) (R 4 ), (II) I(RO) 3-m (R') m Si-R 2 -O] 2 P(O) (R 4 ), or (III) mixtures of I and II, nwherein m is 0-2n R, R 3 , R 4 are alkyl groups of 1-4 carbons, R' is an alkyl group of 1-4 carbons, phenyl, and aralkyl group of 7-10 carbons, and R 2 is an alkylene group of 1-4 carbons. |
