abstract |
A negative type silver halide photographic material comprising silver halide grains of core-shell structure which consists of an inner core essentially consisting of silver bromide iodobromide and a plurality of shells, essentially consisting of silver bromide or silver iodobromide, wherein said silver halide grains comprises (a) an outermost shell containing from 0 to 10 mol% silver iodide, (b) a highly iodide-containing shell provided inside said outermost shell, of which the silver iodide content is at least 6 mol% higher than that of said outermost shell, and (c) and intermediate shell provided between the shells (a) and (b) the silver iodide content of said intermediate shell being at least 3 mol% higher than that of said outermost shell, and at least 3 mol% lower than that of said high iodide-containing shell. |
