The present invention relates to quinoline derivatives of the formulan wherein Z is an amino group or a halogen atom,n n in which R 1 is a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl or haloalkyl group, R 2 is a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group, R 3 is a lower alkyl or haloalkyl group, R 4 is a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group, R 5 and R 6 are the same or different and each represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group, or R 5 and R s , together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached, form a heterocyclic ring, and n is 0 or 1, with the proviso that when Z is an amino group R is (B); n and esters thereof and salts thereof and processes for preparation thereof. These compounds show excellent ant- bacterial activity and are useful antibacterial agents. |
